The Friends of Uley School (FUS) is the Parent Teacher Association of Uley Primary School. The prime aim of the FUS is to support the education of the pupils, through forging closer links between parents and teachers, and fundraising for additional educational resources.
How we raise money
The FUS organise fundraising activities throughout the year, often involving the wider community. Events in recent years have included:
- Summer fete
- Christmas fair
- Sheep racing barbecue
- Christmas cards and wreaths
- Cake sale at Uley Fireworks
- Nearly new sale
You can also support us at no cost to yourself by making online purchases through Amazon Smile and easyfundraising.

How we use our funds

Decisions on how the funds are spent are made by the committee members. Requests come from the teaching staff, children and parents and can be for sums large or small.
Some examples of recent spending:
- Book bags for new reception children
- Mathletics app annual subscription
- £250 per class annually for educational resources
- Supporting school trip to Cotswold Wildlife park
- Funding a visit from Raising Robots, to use the Lego learning systems we purchased for the school
- £25 per pupil for year 6 leavers celebrations
- Book for each child at Christmas, delivered by Father Christmas himself!
Get involved
As well as fundraising, the FUS organise events which add so much to our children’s school experience. We have organised Christmas parties, school discos, summer fetes and Christmas fairs, and funded visits from travelling theatres, authors and storytellers.
Being active in the FUS is fun and rewarding, and we host events such as quizzes and curry nights where parents can get together and make new connections.
